Scheduled to be released in July of 2021, ‘Space Jam 2’ will star Lebron James and serve as a sequel to the original ‘Space Jam’, which released in 1996. Before yesterday, very little was known about the plot of the film. SportsCastr News NBA’s Keith McPherson covered all the details in this morning’s stream.
Outside of LeBron James, the film will feature a plethora of big names across the sports and film industry. Don Cheadle will play the villain in the movie while LeBron’s son, Bronny James, will also have a large role in the film. On his SportsCastr stream, middle child Keith McPherson lamented the fact that Bryce James, LeBron’s middle child, was nowhere to be found in any of the leaks.
The original ‘Space Jam’, starring Michael Jordan, showcased MJ facing off against a group of monsters that had stolen the ability of NBA players, including Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing. This time around, LeBron will not just face off against NBA stars, but also must defeat top WNBA players like Diana Taurasi and Nneka Ogwumike. Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, and Kyle Kuzma are just a few of the NBA players that are reported to be apart of the film.
Not all basketball movies have been successful as ‘Space Jam’. SportsCastr News NBA’s Keith McPherson notes that Kyrie Irving’s ‘Uncle Drew’ was not as popular as what some fans might have hoped. Will LeBron be able to carry a movie better than his former teammate? Perhaps there is a small part of LeBron that wanted to outshine Kyrie once again with his own feature film. SportsCastr News NBA will have all of the coverage leading up to the film’s release in 2021.Tags: Anthony Davis, Bronny James, Charles Barkley, Chris Paul, CP3, Damian Lillard, Diana Taurasi, Kyle Kuzma, Kyrie, Kyrie Irving, LBJ, LeBron, LeBron James, Michael Jordan, MJ, NBA, Nneka Ogwumike, Patrick Ewing, SCN, SCNNBA, Space Jam, Space Jam 2, SportsCastr, WNBA Last modified: October 20, 2020
