Thanks to a late 4th quarter comeback, the Philadelphia Eagles are the new leaders in the NFC East. Despite an 11 point lead with 6 minutes to play, Daniel Jones and the New York Giants allowed 12 unanswered points to lose 22-21.
Before diving into the game, SportsCastr News NFL’s Adam Armbrecht and Lawrence Owen reflected on the injuries that affected this game. Without Saquon Barkley for the Giants and with a battered offense for the Eagles, these two teams look very different then they did in the pre-season.
Despite a back and forth first three quarters, the New York Giants pulled away in the 4th quarter. A touchdown pass to Sterling Shepard gave the Giants a 21-10 lead with 6 minutes left in the game.
Doug Pederson and the Eagles answered quickly and brought the game to within one score. On their SportsCastr stream, Adam and Lawrence dissected a key play by the Giants on their final drive. A perfect Daniel Jones pass to Evan Engram slipped through the tight end’s hands, giving the Eagles the chance to win.
Carson Wentz’s touchdown to RB Boston Scott with under a minute to go gave the Eagles the victory. The SportsCastr News NFL team also discussed the future of Daniel Jones and Jets QB Sam Darnold with the NFL draft looming. With this loss, it is looking likely that Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence may be in the Big Apple very soon.
