Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens have shown no signs of drop-off after last season’s 14-2 campaign. With their only loss of the season against Patrick Mahomes and the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore was poised to be at least a contender in the AFC this year. After their recent additions however, it seems that the Ravens may just be ready to sit atop their conference.
Last week, the Baltimore Ravens added DE Yannick Ngakoue from the Vikings and signed WR Dez Bryant to their practice squad. While both players were once seen as two of the top players at their position group, it is clear that they are both not playing their best football of late.
SportsCastr News NFL’s Joe Noobo and Lawrence Owen discussed the expected impact from the two players. On their SportsCastr stream, Noobo and Owen explained that Ngakoue is still a top edge rusher in the NFL. He should be able to provide a pass rush desperately needed by the Ravens.
Dez Bryant will be a very intriguing fit for the Ravens. While Ngakoue should see playing time immediately, it is unclear where Dez will fall into the offense. The SportsCastr News NFL team agreed that the Ravens could utilize Dez’s big body both for red-zone opportunities and run blocking.
These additions are a low risk-high reward opportunity for the Baltimore Ravens. Prior to these moves, the Ravens were still expected to compete for the Super Bowl. If all goes well, the SportsCastr team believes that these two players could turn the Ravens into the favorites heading into the NFL Playoffs.Tags: AFC, Baltimore Ravens, Chiefs, Dez, Dez Bryant, Kansas City Chiefs, Lamar Jackson, Mahomes, Minnesota Vikings, NFL, NFL Playoffs, Ngakoue, Patrick Mahomes, Playoffs, Ravens, SCN, SCNNFL, SportsCastr, SportsCastr News, Vikings, Yannick Ngakoue Last modified: October 26, 2020
