November has finally arrived, which means the NBA Draft is just weeks away. While it seems like the Los Angeles Lakers were crowned champions just yesterday, the NBA is already moving into the next calendar year. With no clear cut number 1 pick, there should be plenty of drama over the next few weeks.
The New York Knicks are one team that desperately needs to make a splash in this year’s draft. As it becomes clear that New York isn’t a prime free agency destination, homegrown talent must begin to accrue. SportsCastr News NBA’s Guillermo Kyosuke discussed the Knicks and the possible prospects they could target.
While he is most likely not a lottery pick, guard Malachi Flynn from San Diego State could be a player that provides a nice fit for the team. Flynn averaged 17.6 PPG and 5.1 APG for the Aztecs last year. Outside of his offensive output, Flynn was named the Defensive Player of the Year in the Mountain West Conference.
On his SportsCastr stream, Guillermo also discussed the offseason moves made by the Philadelphia 76ers. With the hiring of Doc Rivers and Daryl Morey, the Sixers seem determined to not waste their championship window. It will be very interesting to see whether Morey and Elton Brand will choose to keep their core intact, or blow it up entirely.
The NBA Draft is 16 days away. Where will top names like Lamelo Ball and Anthony Edwards end up? Will we see any blockbuster trades?
