The New Orleans Pelicans were a favorite team of many last year with the addition of Zion Williamson. Williamson propelled the team to several late-season victories and a playoff push. Perhaps the most important player on that team was guard Jrue Holiday.
SportsCastr News NBA’s Matt Brooks analyzed some possible teams that could target Jrue Holiday. The first team Brooks mentions is the Denver Nuggets. Holiday’s hard-nosed defense would fit in well with a team that could use more help defending in the backcourt.
Following the Nuggets suggestion in the SportsCastr stream, Matt discusses the Miami Heat. If the Heat were to include young guard Tyler Herro in a trade, they might be able to obtain Holiday. Goran Dragic and Kendrick Nunn were the top point guards for the Eastern Conference Finals team this past season.
Outside of Holiday, Matt also looked at the rumored NBA start date. It is seeming more likely that the NBA will go forward with the December 22nd open to the regular season. It is likely that some teams (Los Angeles Lakers?) will have a different reaction to this news than others.
Jrue Holiday could be a huge piece for a team looking to make a jump. Not many players in the NBA are able to guard the other team’s best player, while also producing a high scoring output. The SportsCastr News NBA team will be closely monitoring the trade market for the veteran guard.Tags: Denver Nuggets, Dragic, Goran Dragic, Heat, Herro, Jrue Holiday, Kendrick Nunn, Lakers, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, NBA, New Orleans Pelicans, Nuggets, Nunn, Pelicans, SCN, SCN NBA, SportsCastr, SportsCastr News, Tyler Herro, Zion, Zion Williamson Last modified: November 6, 2020
