Knicks Exploring Trade to Move Up In Draft

Knicks 2020 Draft

Currently sitting at the 8th pick, recent news has suggested that the New York Knicks may try to trade up in the draft. The Golden State Warriors have the 2nd pick, and have seemed open to hearing trade ideas. Unfortunately for the Warriors, there are two players in New York that would not be discussed in a trade: Mitchell Robinson and RJ Barrett.

SportsCastr News NBA’s Guillermo Kyosuke and Simeon Russell gave their reactions to the news that certain players would be off-limits. Neither of them thought that either side would like the trade. The Warriors would most likely not be able to get the guy they wanted while the Knicks may have to give up their future.

One possible target that makes trades interesting is prospect Lamelo Ball. Ball is the most intriguing player in this draft. He might have the most upside of any player, while also having the most likely chance of being a bust.

Another interesting prospect discussed on the SportsCastr stream is James Wiseman. If Lamelo Ball is a player with a high ceiling and a low floor, Wiseman has a high ceiling and a pretty high floor as well. It is unlikely Wiseman would be a bust and at least should be able to provide valuable minutes off the bench for any team.

The New York Knicks are a frequent topic of discussion on SportsCastr. Their team is in a city that expects to compete for championships. Perhaps this draft will put them on the right track and catapult them back into the playoff discussion.
