It seems as though every NBA offseason is dominated by rumors that the New York Knicks will land the biggest star. From LeBron James to Kevin Durant, there are always rumors connecting superstars to the Big Apple. This year, it looks like fans have properly tempered their expectations when it comes to the most recent rumors regarding Pistons’ big man Christian Wood.

SportsCastr News NBA’s Guillermo Kyosuke and Simeon Russell discuss the recent rumors connecting Christian Wood to the New York Knicks. Article courtesy of ClutchPoints NBA The 6 foot 10 inch Wood is a versatile player who burst onto the scene with the Detroit Pistons in the 2019-2020 season. Although he averaged 13.1 PPG on the season, Wood scored 20 points or more in seven of the last eight regular-season games. He scored 30 or more in two of those contests.

SportsCastr News NBA’s Guillermo Kyosuke and Simeon Russell discussed the forward and how he would fit in with the Knicks. Simeon doesn’t believe Wood would be able to play alongside Knicks forward Julius Randle. Wood cannot play center for New York, which would mean he would have to take over for Randle.

Elsewhere on their SportsCastr stream, the guys explored Gordon Hayward’s future with the Boston Celtics. At times in the playoffs, the Celtics looked like a better team without Hayward on the court. It might be time for the team to move on from their once highly coveted free agency addition.

The New York Knicks have a long way to go to once again be a staple in the Eastern Conference. Guillermo and Simeon will always look back fondly to the Knicks teams of old on their SportsCastr stream. Maybe this offseason addition could be the start of the journey back to the playoffs for James Dolan and the New York Knicks.
