Has the NBA’s Number 1 Pick Already Been Decided?

It is only fitting that in this incredibly unique year, the NBA Draft would also be extremely unprecedented. In past drafts, names like Zion Williamson and Deandre Ayton seemed to be penciled in as the first pick weeks in advance. Is this year similar or will there be a surprise on November 18th?

SportsCastr News NBA’s Adam Armbrecht and Keith McPherson discussed the rumor that the Timberwolves have made up their mind at the top. Anthony Edwards, James Wiseman, and Lamelo Ball are just a few of the names that have been thrown around. Recent rumors suggest that the Timberwolves have decided on Memphis Center James Wiseman.

On their SportsCastr stream, Keith and Adam both agreed that Wiseman would be a weird fit with Minnesota. While they acknowledge he is most likely the best player in the draft, he might not fit in well with the T-Wolves already possessing their franchise center in Karl Anthony-Towns.

It is possible that these rumors come from the Minnesota camp in an effort to force a trade. The Golden State Warriors have been rumored to be eyeing Wiseman, which could force their hand in a trade. Wiseman could be a great piece to compliment Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.

The SportsCastr NBA team acknowledged that the Timberwolves have a very tough decision to make: draft the best player overall or draft the player that fits your team? This is a dilemma that so many NBA teams have struggled with in the past (the Timberwolves 2009 draft comes to mind). We will soon find out just exactly where Minnesota is leaning next Wednesday on ESPN.
