The Tampa Bay Buccaneers came into the 2020 season with high hopes. After falling in Week 1 to the Saints, Tampa Bay was hoping to avenge their loss when they faced off against Drew Brees and company once again in Week 9. That hope was quickly dashed on Sunday night.
In his pregame stream, SportsCastr News NFL’s Ray Rauth was very clear: he expected the Buccaneers to blow out the Saints. The New Orleans Saints shocked Ray and the rest of the football world last night, winning 38-3. A light Florida rain did not slow down the Saints offense, as Drew Brees completed 26 of 32 passes, four for touchdowns.
With the addition of Antonio Brown, the Buccanneers became the first team in over 20 years to be blessed with three Pro Bowl receivers on the same roster. While Brown was able to add three receptions in his season debut, Tom Brady faltered. The 43 year-old threw three interceptions with a 57% completion percentage.
Thanks to their SNF victory, the Saints control their destiny in the NFC South. If they can be tied with the Buccaneers by Week 17, they will win the division. In such a crowded conference, it is a huge benefit to be a division winner.
The Packers, Saints, Buccaneers, and Seahawks all expect to be contending for the Super Bowl in January. The NFC has no clear favorite, which will make for fantastic football in the coming weeks. The SportsCastr News NFL team will be closely watching the NFC playoff picture.Tags: AB, Antonio Brown, Brady, Brees, Buccaneers, Drew Brees, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, NFC South, NFL, Packers, Saints, SCN, SCN NFL, Seahawks, Seattle Seahawks, SportsCastr, SportsCastr News, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tom Brady, Week 9 Last modified: November 11, 2020
