NFL Week 13 Sunday Recap: Browns Shine & Jets Stay Winless

As we approach the final weeks of the NFL season, the postseason picture is beginning to take shape. The New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, and Cleveland Browns were among many teams to play pivotal games on Sunday. While the Jets aren’t close to a playoff spot, they still found a way to seize the spotlight from some of the most important games of the week.

SportsCastr News NFL’s Joe Noobo, Keith McPherson, Lawrence Owen, and Ray Rauth had the pre and postgame coverage for Sunday’s Week 13 action. In their preview stream, the guys identified the Browns-Titans contest as one of the top to follow in Week 13. Because of the Browns lack of quality wins, the SportsCastr News team was shocked at the result: a 41-35 victory from Cleveland.

The Browns offensive explosion was just one of many surprising games during the early slate. After leading for almost the entire game, the Chicago Bears fell apart late against the Detroit Lions. Because of the Vikings victory over Jacksonville yesterday, the Bears have continued to fall out of the playoff race after a promising start to the season.

In the later slate of games, SportsCastr News NFL’s Ray Rauth was thrilled with New England’s 45-point shutout against the Los Angeles Chargers. Although the chances remain slim, Cam Newton and the Patriots are still in the playoff hunt in the AFC. The New York Jets’ last-second collapse against the Raiders did however make the Patriots job harder in the AFC Wildcard race.

The NFL action continues on Monday with a double header starting at 5 pm featuring the Washington Football Team and the unbeaten Pittsburgh Steelers. The Buffalo Bills take on the San Francisco 49ers at the conclusion of the early game. The week concludes on Tuesday night when the Dallas Cowboys travel to Baltimore to face off against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
